Past verb



الفعل الماضي
Past tense

Past tense: form of a verb tense used to express an action that occurred in the past, it is only used in positive past tense.

In Arabic, to build a sentence into the past form uses the past form of the verb.
أكل علي التفاحة = Ali ate the apple
شرب أخي العصير = my brother drank the juice
أخذ علي الكتاب = Ali took the book

*The plural of masculine is used masculine and if we want to talk about a group of men with women, we use the plural of masculine.
** هُوَ is used for the masculine noun single (human or non human)
*** هُمْ It is used for the masculine nouns or masculine and feminine nouns.
It must however be remembered that it is used only for human beings and not for non human beings
**** هِيَ
  1. is used for the feminine noun (Fem. single)
  2. is used for the feminine irrational noun (Fem. single)
  3. Is used for Irrational (non human) beings plural (masc. or fem).

***** هُنَّ  It is used for the feminine nouns only.
It must however be remembered that it is used only for human beings and not for non human beings

المتكلم =  First person (masc. Or fem.) or both
المخاطب =  Second Person, Masculine
المخاطبة =  Second Person, Feminine
الغائب = Third Person, Masculine
الغائبة =   Third Person, Feminine
المفرد = singular
المثنى = dual
الجمع = plural


Notes:

1 - You will notice in Arabic that in PAST TENSE verbs (doing words), the 'DOER' is mentioned at the END OF WORD.
2 - Pronoun I (أنا) is used for male or female
3 – Pronoun we (نحن ) is used for masculine, feminine or both, and it is also used for dual or plural.
4 – Dual of second person is used for masculine, feminine or both.
