How to say I am not ….
Negation in Arabic: to negate nominal
sentences in Arabic use (ليس ) or (ليست ) according to
masculine and feminine.
To say “I’m not, he is not, she is not, we’re not….” In Arabic we use “laysa
ليس”,
which is a verb that you need to conjugate:
Notes: you have to mention the noun then the word ليس
Ex: أنا لستُ طالب
I’m not a student.

Don't drop letters ( ي ) with these pronouns (( هو – هي – هما – هم
IF you want to use the negative word (ليس), drop the letter ( ي ) with these pronouns
( أنا – نحن – أنتَ – انتِ – أنتما – أنتم – أنتنّ – هنّ )
Such as: جون ليس مُعلم
John is not a teacher
Don't drop letters ( ي ) with these pronouns (( هو – هي – هما – هم
Don’t drop letters too with nouns substitute
previous group of pronouns
